Service Description

Expand Data provides two services. These Terms apply to both.

Expand Data – Locations (Google Sheets add-on)

A bulk address expansion service that turns each address in your spreadsheet into structured location data (104 data columns: geocoding, USPS deliverability, property, environmental, commercial, and mobility data), retrieved live from Google Maps Platform APIs and written into a new sheet in your workbook. The add-on contains no AI — every value is sourced from Google APIs at the time you run.

Location Report (single-address PDF)

A one-time purchase: a location report for a single address, delivered as a PDF by email. The report combines Google Maps Platform data with AI-generated narrative analysis (Google Vertex AI / Gemini). AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes and should be reviewed and validated by you.

Shared Service Features:

• Results delivered to your spreadsheet (add-on) or your email (report)
• Job rows retained about 48 hours for delivery and recovery; results may be cached up to 30 days as permitted by Google's terms
• Exact pricing shown before you confirm — we never charge above the estimate you saw

Google Maps Content

Our services use Google Maps Platform. By using them, you also agree to be bound by the Google Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to Google's handling of that data.

Your Responsibilities

Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Use the service only for lawful purposes
• Ensure you have the right to process the data you submit
• Provide accurate data for analysis
• Not submit content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, abusive, or violates intellectual property rights
• Not submit malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit our systems

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities under your account
• Notifying us immediately of unauthorized access
• Keeping your contact information current

Data Rights and Compliance

• Your Data: You retain full ownership of all data you submit
• Your Rights: You warrant you have necessary rights to process your data
• Compliance: Ensure your use complies with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA)

Billing and Payments

Sheets Add-on Pricing (prepaid credits)

Per-row pricing:

• $2.00 per row (rows 1-50 of a job)
• $1.50 per row (rows 51-250)
• $1.00 per row (rows 251+)
• Jobs of 500 or more rows are priced at a flat $1.00 per row in total
• Free trial: your first 10 rows (first job) are free — no payment method required

Credit Purchase:

• Credits are prepaid via Stripe in the amounts shown at purchase (exact-amount or packs)
• Credits never expire while your account is active
• Credits are non-transferable between accounts

Location Report Pricing

• One-time payment of $12.00 USD per report via Stripe Checkout
• The report PDF is delivered to the email you provide at checkout

Payment Processing:

• Processed securely through Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant)
• Payment methods: Credit card and debit card
• Currency: USD
• Applicable taxes added at checkout based on location

Refund Policy

Automatic Refunds (Sheets add-on):

• Rows we cannot resolve are refunded automatically — failed rows remain in your sheet with the reason, and the refund appears on your job receipt
• Processing failures due to system errors: full credit refund
• Rows that return partial data are charged in full; each row's completeness is shown in its sources column

Location Report:

• If we cannot generate or deliver your report, we refund the $12.00 in full

Requested Refunds:

• Unused credits: May request refund within 30 days of purchase
• Processing fee: $2.00 deducted from refund amount
• Timeline: 5-10 business days to original payment method

No Refunds For:

• Credits used for successful analysis (even if results are unsatisfactory)
• Account violations or Terms of Service breaches
• Requests made more than 30 days after purchase

Service Availability

Uptime Expectation

We target 99.5% monthly uptime, but this is a goal, not a guarantee. We do not provide service credits or compensation for downtime.

Important Notes

• Processing times vary based on data complexity and system load
• AI-generated narrative in Location Reports should be reviewed and validated by you
• We may perform scheduled maintenance with 24-hour advance notice
• Emergency maintenance may occur without notice

Limitation of Liability

Disclaimer

Expand Data is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including:

• Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of results
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose

Liability Cap

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the lesser of:

• The amount you paid for credits in the past 12 months, OR
• $500 USD

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our control, including:

• Natural disasters, wars, government actions
• Internet outages, cyberattacks
• Third-party service outages (Google, Stripe)
• Third-party API or platform changes (Google Sheets, Google Maps Platform, Vertex AI, Stripe, SendGrid)
• Regulatory changes affecting service functionality

Intellectual Property

Our Property:

• Expand Data, logos, service marks, our software, and our report formats are our intellectual property
• AI narrative is generated using third-party models (Google Vertex AI); location data is provided by Google Maps Platform

Your Property:

• You retain all ownership of your original data
• You may use analysis results for your business purposes
• We do not claim ownership of your data or results

Privacy and Data Protection

This Terms of Service should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which details:

• Data collection and processing practices
• Your privacy rights and controls
• Third-party integrations and data sharing
• Security measures and data protection

Both documents constitute our complete agreement on privacy and data handling.

Account Termination

By You

You may terminate your account anytime by:

• Contacting support@expanddata.com
• Following account deletion process in your account settings
• Unused credits refunded according to our refund policy

By Us

We may terminate or suspend your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Submit illegal or harmful content
• Leave account inactive for more than 2 years

Effects of Termination

Upon termination:

• Access immediately revoked
• All account data permanently deleted within 30 days
• Outstanding credits may be refunded at our discretion
• These Terms continue to apply to past use

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we do:

• Users notified via email
• Material changes have 30-day notice period before taking effect
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• Previous versions archived and available for reference

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the courts of British Columbia, Canada.

Dispute Resolution

2. If unresolved, disputes settled through mediation, then binding arbitration, under the law of British Columbia, Canada
3. You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of class action
